"Follow-up to Bouzouki Joe's brilliant collection of sought-after Turkish Psyche-folk recorded in the prime period 1970-1978. Volume 2 spans another seventeen exquisitely evocative gems with numbers by the revered Baris Manco alongside lesser known album tracks and a slew of cherry-picked rarities. We're not overly familiar with the sound, but every time our mate Sean Canty plays one of these nuggets, or something similar in his various DJ slots, we're always compelled to find out what it is, and then choke at how much it cost him! This time we encounter some Moog-fuelled killers on Kerem Guney's 'Aglayi Aglayi' and Gokben's sumptuous 'Eninde Sonunda' (check that Moog wail!), next to the epic intro and dynamite funk breaks of Baris Manco's 'Estergon Kalesi' or the deadly 'Mozart'. Further into the vibe, you'll find another driving, funky Manco production on Irgat's 'Sevil and Ayla', a magical cover of Selda's 'Afet Serenay' from Maden Dagi, and the fiery Psyche rock thrust of Cem Karaca + Mogollar's 'Obur Dunya'.
