Grove Music – 018
Another massive track from Yabby You, probably one of his best-known songs. A side of this 12" was included in the 2015 compilation named "Dread Prophecy (The Strange And Wonderful Story Of Yabby You)" released by Shanachie label. They probably used/made a vinyl rip for this compilation, and a bad one unfortunately. Most of the singles originally released on vinyl have poor audio quality in this compilation.Searchability

Yabby You - (2012) Deeper Roots: Dub Plates And Rarities 1976 - 1978
Pressure Sounds – 077
Pressure Sounds fill the Yabby U shaped gap in the reggae market with this excellent collection of rare and obscure singles and dubs. It may go without saying on here but Yabby U aka Vivian Jackson is one of the cornerstones of roots reggae, with early seventies roots blueprints such as Conquering Lion, Jah Vengeance and Love Thy Neighbours arguably never improved upon. His music remains the very pinnacle of deep roots reggae. Most of his greatest music was collected on Blood & Fire’s peerless Jesus Dread collection. Here, Pressure Sounds dig deeper for such delights as Smith’s Valley Of Joeasaphat and its beautiful Tubby’s dub, or Barrington Spence’s Don’t Tutch I Dread and its dub, some will recall I Roy’s cut on his Crisus Time LP. Then there’s the early rare as rocking horse do-do organ cut to Conquering Lion, Lazy Mood, and a full dub cut to Yabby’s 1977 classic Deliver Me From My Enemies, amongst the previously unreleased gems. Very tasty.Monday, January 28, 2019
