Hunting Lodge - (2010) Shadows Out of Time '82-'83 3xLP

Shadows out of Time is a collection of three LP's with unreleased and
formerly cassette-only material from Hunting Lodge, representing the
first blush of their creativity, a time when each sonic experiment
festered into a beautiful sore.
Dark Ambient, Noise, Power Electronics, all represented here before these pigeons had holes in which to fit. One LP is comprised of the now-legendary EXHUMED, which was formerly released cassette-only, heard here in better shape than ever - direct-metal mastered from the original two-track mixes.
The second LP is all unreleased material, highlights of which include never-heard gems from the recordings for the promotional cassette 23 MINUTES OF MURDER. On the flip-side, both literally and figuratively, are the electro-disco-teckno recordings used for intermission music at Hunting Lodge live shows in 1983.
The final LP contains Live material which was formerly cassette-only, including tracks from AT THE HARRINGTON BALLROOM and S/M OPERATIONS LIVE, as well as much of the formerly unreleased LIVE AT THE LODGE.
Oft-bootlegged, this performance is pressed here direct from the original masters, representing the two-piece early noise-unit of Hunting Lodge in harrowing live intensity. Furthermore featured in the Box-Set is an additional Bonus 7" including studio cover version of John Wright's „Stellazine Shuffle“ b/w „Learn to Will II“,formerly released on Nekrophile Rekords "Beast 666" cassette compilation in 1983 These LP's and 7“ are presented with period-accurate, gloriously bold, black and white artwork. Each LP comes in it's own printed sleeve inside of a box printed with the Thomas Nordstrom artwork previously only seen on early Hunting Lodge stationery. Also included are liner notes by Jeff "Central" Chenault and recording details, including information on equipment used, and never before seen photos of live Hunting Lodge and of collectors minutiae. The scars will never completely heal.

After the D.D.D.D. (Destroy Devastating and Disgusting Derivatives) tape out in 1995 on OEC here we go for a new corrosive & psychedelic-noise album by this primal duo in the Japanese Industrial-Noise culture!

§ "Paraponera Attack" is one of the most terrible pain in the world caused by Paraponera Clavata, known as “Bullet Ant”
§ "Financial Gerontology" is a multidisciplinary field of study encompassing both academic and professional education, that integrates research on aging and human development with the concerns of finance and business. (Wikipedia).
In the financial industry, this is regarded very important theme for business chance, but no concrete action has really taken except tons of tautological discussions.
I name this situation as “Financial Gerontautology”
§ The last track is a live recording at Soup, Ochiai, Tokyo on 10th February, 2018.

No effing about here, just three dry and sharp blasts of
uncompromisingly evil noise delivered with your insanity in mind.
Between the pebble-dashed grain of ‘Filantropen (Irate, peeved)’, the
high register squall and stress of ‘I tacksamhet’, and the sustained,
side-long barrage of ‘Kristen Musik Från Rågsved’ on the flip, there’s
at least a monthly dose of earfloss for the even the gunkiest noise
‘ead.

Skin Crime - (2019) Traveller On The Road LP

With perhaps the most impactful, harrowing take on minimalist drone
since they released Kevin Drumm’s 'Imperial Distortion' over a decade
ago, Hospital Productions finally release the first proper new album
from Skin Crime in years, a quietly harrowing, Japanese ghost
story-inspired album of darkest ambient and industrial shadowplay
inverting noise convention and exploring ideas of tense, slow-burn
patience instead of aggressive intensity.
Described by the label as “the missing link between Kevin Drumm, Painjerk and Mika Vainio”, Skin Crime took a 12 year hiatus until 2016 and the bloodshed of their instantly sold-out, 20CD boxset of archival material. That same year they also issued ‘Ghosts I Have Been’, a crushingly bleak album inspired by Japanese mythology and ghost stories which have paved the way for this new one, where the band’s Patrick O’Neil and Mark Jameson continue to refine their instincts into the dankest brand of organic ambient noise.
In key with their ghostly Japanese muse, specifically the “Bakaneko” or “Ghost Cat” movies of the ‘50s and ‘60s, as well as the writing of Lafcadio Hearn aka Koizumi Yakumo - author of ‘Kwaidan: Stories and Studies of Strange Things’ - Skin Crime’s music in ‘Traveller on the Road’ is all about presence and the suggestibility of hypnagogic and half-awake states. Their cold-fingered sleight of hand is applied to exceedingly fine layers of textural enigma in long, unbroken tracts that hold the listener’s gaze with frightening power.
‘Avoid Large Places At Night’ takes hold with intravenal potency, very subtly drawing eyes to half-mast with its mechanical womb-like ambience, and stealthily introducing subharmonic rumbles and peripheral rustles that suggest unseen spectres lurking in a thicket of ghosts. A lack of sudden movement only ratchets the threat levels to seat-edge. Likewise with its deeply soporific subs and texturhythms, the B-side’s ‘Black Cat From The Grove’ continues to numb the senses in a noise style, but eviscerated of all open aggression, preferring a dense mode of suggestion that only emphasises the unheimlich nature of their music.
It’s a masterclass in saying it without saying it, and alongside those references to Kevin Drumm, Painjerk and Mika Vainio, the album also sits well alongside Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement and Meitei - and not to be missed by any fans of the above.
